Debra Kraft believes that global engineers envisions a world in which everyone has safe water, sanitation, energy, food, shelter and infrastructure. The engineers must become activists and advocates, leveraging their professionals skills and capacity to generate evidence and positive impact on the people.
More often than not, rural places such as villages and poor countries do not have access to clean water, proper sanitation, food, shelter and infrastructure. It is imperative for the engineers to communicate properly to find out what are the exact needs of the people from the said places and the problems they face. Next, the engineer has to communicate his findings to the relative ambassador or authority that's governing the area. He has to ensure that they fully understand the scenario which allows them to paint the bigger picture and allow them to act out accordingly and accurately. Additionally, he has to communicate and inform his findings to his team as well. It is imperative that he is precise with the information provided so that no information gets missed out which can impair the progress. Effective communication will allow them to be transparent regarding the details, smoothen the workflow processes, voice out opinions, issues or solutions and most importantly it ensures that everyone ends up on the same page.
After reading the blog, I can generally understand what the article is talking about. With this, the content of the blog is well delivered to the reader, which in this case, is me. Language used is precise and concise to allow the reader to directly understand. The blog is organised beautifully by giving a statement/stand first in the first paragraph, and then proceeded to explain further on the article in the next paragraph.
